Report

Argentina started in a very impressive manner. Just 35 seconds after the start Augustin Marengo opened the score. Argentina dominated the game and score more goals. Petasny skated between the circles and beat Martinez again. Than Martin MArengo showed probably the best move of the game. He skated through the defense and made a fool out of Martinez in the end. Then Guzman added two more goals for Argentina.

It was all over Argentina in the 2nd half, but Venezuelans fought back. The fans cheered for them and they started to score goals. Romero scored from sharp angle, then Osa fired a shot in two-man advantage and scored as well. All the chances of Venezuela were gone when Echevarria perfectly hit the upper corner. "It was not an easy game, but we controlled the game since the game had started. We used our chances. We managed to stop the Venezuelan attempts for shot," said Sebastian Echevarria. The last goal of the game was added by Juan Singer from penalty shot 20 seconds to go. Team Argentina ends at 13th place, Venezuela is the last one.

"I am very proud of my team. We were getting better game by game in this tournament and I believe we will be more succesful next year. We would like to come again and prepare ourselves better. There is a new and bigger in-line rink being built in our country, so hopefully it will help us in the future," said Harald Valentiner of Team Venezuela.

Comments

Leandro Marengo (coach of Team Argentina): We are satisfied with the result of the game. We played in the same line-ups as in the 1st game against Venezuela. We improved our performance as the championship moved on. We did not play well in the power plays which we were unable to capitalize. I am satisfied with our performance, although we did not make it to the querterfinals.

Alejandro Valentiner (Team Venezuela coach): I am obviously disappointed to finish last in this tournament, but not from today´s match. With a bit of luck we could even win, but we lacked a bit better stickwork and had too many penalties.
